Children's Ministry

The children’s ministry is about the family, both the parent(s) and the child. At Spirit of the Cross, we invite you to bring your children with you for Sunday morning worship. We want the entire family to worship, to learn, and to enjoy the blessings of God.

Spirit of the Cross offers Children’s Church for children age 4 through the sixth grade. During the Sunday worship service, a children’s sermon is presented. Afterwards, the children are dismissed to Children’s Church. The children return to the worship center during the celebration song (before communion).

Children’s Church follows a lectionary-based curriculum that covers the major stories and characters of the Bible on a three year rotating cycle. The goal is to see the children grow in the Lord by providing Biblical lessons with life applications appropriate for their age. The children learn from interactive lesson plans, hands on activities, and creative crafts.

It is also important for parents to know that every volunteer and teacher involved in any way with our children’s ministry is trained and undergoes a criminal background check.
